Founded in March 1995, CABINET M. OPROIU is a private professional partnership of industrial property attorneys, engineers, chemists, physicists and attorneys-at-law, all specialized in the field of industrial property rights based in the city of Bucharest, Romania.
We deal with the acquiring, maintaining and enforcing of patents, trade marks and industrial designs. We represent our Clients directly before the Romanian Patent Office (RPO), the European Patent Office (EPO), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Office for Harmonization of the Internal Market (OHIM).
In litigation matters we work closely with associated firms of attorney-at-law.
The Firm currently has 20 professionals, out of which 3 are partners, 12 associated patent/trademark attorneys or attorneys-at law and 5 specialists. Based on our experience and the legal and technical skills we are now in the position to be able to provide competent advice in all patents, trade marks and industrial designs in all fields of commerce and technology, including the related litigation and advice.
The firm has grown steadily to become known as one of the leading professional firms of patent and trademark attorneys in Romania and a benchmark for the practice in this country where the profession of patent or trademark attorney in private practice has been created again in 1992 after almost 50 years of absence.
Others do think in the same way: according to the worldwide annual survey published in the Managing Intellectual Property Magazine, the firm has been voted in the past six years in the top tier of the firms of patent and trademark attorneys, out of which in the past three years (2006,2007 and 2008) we ranked on the first place for patent and trademark prosecution and in the second place in contentious IP matters.
The attorneys of the Firm are members of various Romanian and International Patent and Trademark Association, such as the National Chamber of IP Attorneys, ECTA, INTA, FICPI, AIPPI, MARQUES.
We are today imbedded in an international network of IP attorneys all over the world. Our privileged personal contacts with colleagues from other jurisdictions are cultivated.
